Introducing Massapequa Chiropractor Dr. Raymond E. Bartolo Jr.

The Chiropractor To See In Massapequa

"I have to admit, that if I didn't severely injure my lower back when I was younger, I may have never thought to see a chiropractor," remembers Dr. Raymond Bartolo. "Years later and knowing what I know now about health and wellness, my family and patients rely on me to help keep them healthy."

It all started back in May 1989," continues Dr. Bartolo. "I took a devastating fall that left me suffering with severe lower back and leg pain at twenty years old. I did what most people would have done at the time, I saw my medical doctor and took pain killers and anti-inflammatories. My mother had recently remarried and she brought me to my stepbrother's office for an examination and treatment. He was a local chiropractor. Desperate for help, I was anxious for him to do anything needed to help my condition. After evaluating me, he ordered some x-rays to further look at my problem. He explained them to me and my treatment began immediately after. After the first visit I was amazed at how good I felt. The pain came back later that night, but I saw him regularly until we had my problem under control and I was out of pain." "During my time spent with him, I was inspired to change my career path and become a Doctor of Chiropractic myself," says Dr. Bartolo.

Dr. Bartolo began his pre-chiropractic education at NCC where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Life College, School of Chiropractic in Marietta, Ga. During his four years at Life, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life College Public Clinic. After graduating in December 1994, Dr. Bartolo returned to the Massapequa area to establish his practice.

“We love helping others,” smiles Dr. Bartolo. “I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went to the chiropractor for the first time. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions, and help our patients feel at ease during their visits. Patients appreciate that.”

Dr. Bartolo is married to Michele and they have three children, Olivia, Alex, and Luke. Dr. Bartolo and his family are lifetime residents of Massapequa, and love to participate in community events. He enjoys golfing locally at Peninsula Golf Club, exercising at Synergy Fitness, and fishing with his closest friends on the Great South Bay.

Dr. Bartolo Asks some important questions of interest to Massapequa residents - Chiropractor Massapequa Dr. Bartolo Asks...

Where do most Massapequa residents get their first vertebral subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of vertebral subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Massapequa newborn.
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
Because they can be dangerous? I chose a chiropractic career specifically because it avoids artificial means of pain relief. Our Massapequa chiropractic practice attracts health-conscious families that prefer a safe and natural solution. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
